Wednesday

Yesterday was a brilliant day learning all about mining at Morwellham Quay. We learned rock breaking, rode the mine train down the mine and dressed in Victorian costumes, which we soon discovered were very hot!  We ate lunch in a shady spot by the river.  Stone Farm lunches remind me of Famous Five stories if any of you remember reading about the lunches they had packed.  Our children are doing a good job of trying to eat all the food provided but haven't yet succeeded- there was left over apple strudel last night following seconds of dinner for many children and a good sized dessert. The children have been fantastic company and they loved some quality down time with the animals on our return to the farm last night.  We had our camp fire last night, enjoying some toasted marshmallows and then retired to bed where everyone has slept peacefully.  It is another beautiful sunny morning for us ready for today's adventures.

Milking champions

Our current leaders in the milking Daisy the cow competition are :

Emily Hawes and Evan

I wonder if they will be beaten this week.

The challenge is to see how much milk they can get from the cow in a minute.
