Fox
uWe are beginning with Fox, looking at how the language and illustrations are effective in the impression they leave on the reader. We are writing diary entries and a prequel and sequel. I think the class will enjoy this because they were decidedly unimpressed with the ending!
uWe move on to poetry with the book ‘Stars with Flaming Tails.’ The children will learn and perform poems as well as exploring techniques used by poets and attempting to write their own.
uThe Fairy Tale Times will be the next book and we will have some fun creating news reports based on Well Known Fairy Tales.
uThe Tempest will be our study after half term and we are working on getting a theatre group in who will help the children to put on their own performance of the play to really engage them in the story.
uInstructions, again closely linked to well known stories will come at the end of term.
Our Tempest Play in a Day Thanks to the support of FOS, who paid for the experience for the children.
