• MacMillan Fundraising Afternoon

  Chequers House did a tremendous job this afternoon serving tea, coffee and cakes to our families and friends.  A magnificent £200.36 was raised for this most worthwhile charity.

• Harvest Festival Collection

  Thank you to everyone who joined us for our lovely Harvest Service on Friday, as always it was a very special occasion.

  Bernie the Bus, driven by Councillor Ashley Waite, collected our donations of non-perishable foods this afternoon.  These will be taken to the Vineyard Storehouse Food Bank for distribution to families in our local area.  Thank you to everyone to contributed.  We estimate we collected around 130 cans which will be helping Bernie achieve the 10,000 Can Challenge.

  

• OakFest'23

  We are delighted to announce that a grand total for OakFest has been reached, bar a couple more promised amounts from sponsors.

   

  £15,588.00! - How incredible is that?

   

  Thank you to everyone involved in any way at all from our fabulously talented musicians, very generous sponsors, our incredible volunteers and of course everyone who came along and supported the day.

   

  The stage is booked and the marquees requested so it looks like we will be celebrating our 10th anniversary on Saturday 8th June 2024.  Please put the date in your diary and spread the word to family and friends.

  

• Badgers' Class Trip to Bray Lake Water Sports Centre

  Badgers had a fantastic day at Bray Lake having the opportunity to try dinghy sailing, stand up paddle boarding and canoeing.  I think they had most fun cooling off in the lake!  Such a great day and the children really rose to the challenge to try new things.  Very proud of my class as always. 

  

• Sports Day Champions

  After a very close finish Blenheim were crowned champions of our annual sports day.  Thank you to everyone who came along to support the day and to Mrs Cochrane and all the staff for such fantastic organisation making the morning run so smoothly.

  

• Mindful Minis

  Lucy from Mindful Minis joined us for the day today.  She spent time with each class teaching them breathing exercises and some yoga poses to help with wellbeing and relaxation.  All our children and staff thoroughly enjoyed the very useful sessions.

  

• Bikeability Training

  Our children are now much safer cycling on the roads following their ‘Bikeability’ training last week.  We are grateful to our trainers, Tim and Bryan from Haddenham Cycle Training, who worked hard with two groups to ensure they could all look out for dangers, signal efficiently, turning both ways, passing parked vehicles and all other road hazards they could imagine.  Hopefully you will spot the children riding safely around the village with their helmets on.

  My son can happily tell the story of his helmet split down the middle following a fall on the road.  Fortunately, his head was fine and a new helmet and some dressings for grazes to arms and legs were all we needed, but it goes to show the importance of wearing a helmet at all times whilst cycling.

  

• Shelby the African Land Snail

  Marie, our hand signing teacher, brought a very special visitor to her after school club today.  The children learnt lots of new signs linked to him and were fascinated watching him move around his tank.

  

• DIY Day

  A huge thank you to everyone who came along to help at our DIY day.  It is always so heartwarming when our parents come together and achieve so much around the school site.  Your support is very much appreciated.

   

  The new football goals are now up, our greenhouse has been given a new lease of life and is ready for the spring growing season and a skip full of bits and pieces have been cleared.

   

  Unfortunately as the weather had been so wet in the week leading up to the day we were not able to do any painting or wood treatment so we hope to plan another date soon.

• Visit from the Northern Ballet

  Eve from the Northern Ballet worked with each class with a focus on The Ugly Duckling.

  After a little reluctance from some pupils everyone really got into character and enjoyed the freedom and joy of dance.
