Love, Honesty, Respect

Thanks to the tremendous support of our families, we have raised £191.46 is commission from the recent Travelling Book Fair. This will allow us to choose a great range of books from the Scholastics catalogue to stock our library with new titles.
Blenheim House did a tremendous job raising just over £137.00 for Children in Need. Money was raised through selling official Pudsey merchandise, holding a yellow tombola, guess the name of Pudsey's grandad and a fabulous cake sale.
Thank you to all our families for your generous support once again.
The whole school community gathered on the playground to mark two minute's of silence at 11.00am today in respect of our armed services.
Our School Ambassadors read poems and every child placed a hand made poppy in the ground in remembrance of those who have given their lives and served our country in conflicts around the world.
Butterflies Class have had great fun making autumn pumpkins from rice crispies and marshmallows. I'm sure they will taste as delicious as they look.
Pupils and staff dressed in red to mark in support of this important charity. Class lessons have included the topic of respect and focused on Black History Month.
£82.25 was raised through a red mufti day which will be passed on to the charity to support their work.

We are proud to have once again been awarded the BSSP 'Green' Kitemark. This Kitemark is a sign of recognition for schools whose results demonstrate Safe Practice in the delivery of their School Swimming Programme.
Although we weren't able to hold our harvest festival service at St Mary's Church due to the extreme weather, we did have a wonderful celebration in the school hall.
Thank you to all our families for the most generous donation of non-perishable goods which were displayed at the church for the village service. These will be collected by Bernie the Bus and delivered to the Storehouse Vineyard food bank for distribution to families in need.
We are thrilled to finally announce that we have a final total for this year's OakFest. Thanks to the support of our sponsors, musicians, our families and the wider community a grand total of £16,105.00 was raised. This brings the total over the nine festivals to £104,490.40 which is an incredible amount of money for our little school, Oakley Pre-School and St Mary's Church.

And then there was Thursday! I have been hearing the children talk about the day at Bray Lake and how much they are looking forward to it. Now I understand why. I am sure that they have told you all about it from their perspective, so I'm just going to add mine. Watching everyone take on the different activities (sailing, giant paddle boarding and kayaking) with such determination, resilience through a little apprehension and enjoyment was the highlight of my year so far. Again, the Bray Lake team commented on how energetic and well-behaved our group was. Well done everyone!
Well that went rather well didn’t it! The atmosphere was magical, the sun shone and people came along to join our little party.
Over the years so many people have helped build OakFest into the fabulous event it has become. Numerous superbly talented bands and artists have and our incredibly generous sponsors, many of them local business, who have paid thousands of pounds to help cover costs and make more money for our little school. Add to that the wonderfully kind volunteers who step in to help out with their special jobs, big and small, many of whom are previous Oakley parents who still come back year after year to help, others close friends who come along to support us with their expertise, and you have a huge family of people who come together to make everything possible, raising an enormous total that has and continues to make such a difference to our lovely village school. Thank you to everyone single person who supported in any way, I am immensely grateful.
Once we have a final figure I will let you know but it is looking very good.
