• Echoes 10 - Royal Albert Hall

  Yesterday our KS2 children joined over a thousand other Buckinghamshire primary school children at the Buckinghamshire Music Trust's concert, Echoes 10.

  Rehearsals have been going on in school for many weeks with the children learning the songs and musical score to Constellations, a specially commissioned piece written by Cameron Sinclair, on their brass and stringed instruments.

  The event was a huge success and a real privilege to be part of and I am sure performing at the iconic Royal Albert Hall will be a story our children will be telling their grandchildren in years to come.

  Thank you to Lyn Lee of BMT, Ms Green and Miss Brown for working with the children to get them ready for such a huge performance.

  

• Cross Country Event, Askett House

  Our team of runners did us proud last Saturday taking part in the AVPSAA annual cross country event at Askett House.

  This is always such a well organised and enjoyable event which we have now taken part in for a few years.

  Thank you to the children who took part, parents for your support and to our school staff who attended.

  

• Kapla Workshops

  On our first day back from the Easter holidays we welcomed Jennifer from Kapla Clubs UK to Oakley School.  Jennifer worked with each class creating some beautiful and spectacular  models from thousands of Kapla bricks.

  The children worked so well together in small groups carefully placing their bricks.  As you will see from the attached, photos some of the structures were very intricate and required a very steady hand!
