  • Motivational Presentation by Andy of Urban Strides

Fri 24 Nov 2023 Serena Courtney

Our Key Stage 2  pupils enjoyed a visit from Andy from Urban Strides who talked about resilience and keys to success.  He was so inspiring the staff are now considering new careers in street dance.  The children learned about Andy’s journey and he taught them about ‘accepting the challenge’, ‘grabbing opportunities’, ‘practice makes progress’ and surrounding themselves with people who will support and encourage their dreams.  Many who have been to Young Voices will know Andy from the dance moves we learn and for performing street dance live on stage as part of the performance.  His passion is contagious so let’s hope it inspires our children to follow their dreams.

  • Children in Need 2023

    Mon 20 Nov 2023 Iola Seaton-Reid

On Friday we supported Children in Need by holding a yellow/spotty/Pudsey mufti day.  To carry on the yellow theme we held a yellow tombola and cake sale after school.  Blenheim House also sold official Pudsey merchandise and an incredible £308.00 was raised for this very worthwhile charity.  Thank you to everyone who donated prizes for the tombola, cakes for the sale and of couse came along after school to support us.

Last year CIN helped nearly 460,000 children and young people to overcome their challenges. This included supporting children & young people living in poverty, providing emergency support to families in crisis, providing comfort to children feeling sad, lost and alone, helping children overcome social injustice and supporting children to feel safe and secure again.

  • Remembrance Day Commemorations

    Fri 10 Nov 2023 Iola Seaton-Reid

We marked Remembrance Day with a outdoor service and two minute's silence to remember those who sacrificed so much for us and for those who continue to protect us.

Each child placed the poppy they had made, with a personal message on, in the ground.  Some of these will be moved to the Oakley war memorial in St Mary's churchyard.

Donations were made to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.

Thank you to all our families who filled a shoebox to 'spread a little happiness' to a less fortunate child in Eastern Europe.  These have now been collected and will be on a lorry heading east next week.
