• Author & Illustrator Visit 31.01.19

  FOS have generously supported school and paid for the author and illustrator, M. P. Robertson to visit the school on Friday 25^th January to undertake a series of workshops with the children. Mark is the author of many picture books for children, including The Egg series about a boy and his dragon.

   

  Mark will be at school all day talking to the children about where he gets the inspiration for his books, as well as helping them improve their drawing skills.

   

  Collective worship will start at 2.50pm on Friday with ‘Pupil of the Week’ and ‘Good Behaviour Awards’. Mark will then end his visit with a whole school story.

   

  If the children would like to take home a memento of the day Mark will be signing books in the hall at the end of the day. All books are priced at £7, £12 for hardbacks (when available).

• Science Fair Announced

  I am excited to announce Oakley C of E Combined School’s first science fair on Friday 22nd March 2019 starting at 1.30pm and running through to the end of the school day. 

   

  I am hoping several of you will be able to help us out on the afternoon.  Ideally I am looking for people who have a simple activity they would be happy to run, people who use science, technology, engineering or maths as part of their job to bring pictures, leaflets, equipment to display and be prepared to answer questions about their work.

   

  It would also be valuable to showcase businesses who have links to STEM.  They could bring leaflets, sell books or park vehicles on the playground.
