Robins 2022-2023

Wow, what a busy first three weeks we have had here in Robins class! The children have settled back into every aspect of school life and are working really hard on their learning. Year 1 children have been doing a great job at working more independently and have adapted well to recording their learning more formally. Year 2 children have risen to the challenge of a more intense curriculum this year and are already showing some great progress!

I was very proud of all of the children this week as we held our school council elections! So many children were brave enough to put themselves forwards by standing to make a speech to their friends about why they would make a fantastic school councillor, we had some fantastic public speakers! I was also incredibly impressed by how mature the children were when voting and how respectful and truly happy they were for the successful candidates when they were announced. It was wonderful to see. 

Despite lots of hard work, we have still been having plenty of fun! The children loved engaging with nature and using natural resources to play and problem solve during our first visit to the mud kitchen on Wednesday. I was very impressed by some of their creativity and team work. I also loved visiting the children's restaurants, cafes and cake shops where I enjoyed some stick stew, pebble cupcakes and bark chip cookies to name just a few!

We are all looking forwards to our harvest festival service today and for the coming weeks of learning and fun!

Good morning Robins class! I hope you have all had a wonderful summer and are ready to go for the new school year tomorrow. I am so excited to see you all and spend our first day together as the new Robins class! 

A quick reminder to parents. Our PE days this year will be Monday and Friday. I am hoping to start off swimming on Mondays for as long as it is warm enough to do so. We will not be doing any PE tomorrow however, so our first PE lesson will be this Friday. Please could you therefore make sure that your child comes in wearing their PE kit on Friday. 

I hope you all get a good sleep tonight ready for a brilliant first day tomorrow!
